
The Sharjah Government Media Bureau, UAE, reported on Sunday that emergency teams had brought under control a fire that broke out at Khor Fakkan Port after shrapnel fell from a successfully interception by air defense system.
It noted that four people were injured.
In a statement, the Media Bureau said: “Following up on the incident reported earlier, Sunday, April 5, at Khor Fakkan Port, caused by falling shrapnel after a successful interception by air defense systems, the relevant authorities confirm that a fire broke out at the site. Emergency response teams dealt with the fire quickly and efficiently, and it has been brought under control. Cooling operations are currently underway.”
The statement added that the incident resulted in serious injuries to a Nepalese national, who was transferred to the hospital for treatment, in addition to minor to moderate injuries sustained by three Pakistani nationals.
