Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to providing all forms of medical and humanitarian support to Palestinians, stressing the country’s continued role in receiving the injured and offering comprehensive healthcare.
This came during a meeting with French Ambassador to Cairo Eric Chevallier and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Nima Saeed Abid, representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Egypt, as well as Amal Imam, executive director of the Egyptian Red Crescent, and representatives of Elevate Holding Services.
The meeting reviewed ways to enhance cooperation in treating Palestinian children with cancer, with the minister noting that the ministry is working to strengthen international partnerships with specialized medical institutions to ensure access to the latest global treatment protocols.
For his part, the French ambassador praised Egypt’s efforts in supporting and treating Palestinian patients, expressing France’s readiness to expand cooperation and support humanitarian initiatives aimed at caring for Palestinian children.
The talks also addressed final arrangements for signing a cooperation protocol between Gustave Roussy International Egypt and the French Embassy to allocate a number of beds for treating Palestinian children with cancer, with support from the Egyptian Red Crescent.
The agreement is expected to be signed in the coming weeks ahead of receiving patients.
