
The Egyptian national football team, led by twins Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan, held a training session at Gonzaga University in Spokane in preparation for their match against Iran in the third round of the 2026 World Cup group stage.
Twenty-four players participated in the session, while Hamdi Fathy underwent a rehabilitation program after suffering a hamstring injury.
Hossam Abdel-Maguid also underwent treatment and medical examinations under the supervision of team doctor Mohamed Aboul-Ela.
The president of the Egyptian Football Association and supervisor of the national team, Hany Abo-Rida, along with the vice president of the association and head of the delegation, Khaled al-Darandaly, and board members Mostafa Abu-Zahra, Mohamed Abu-Hussein, and Tarek Aboul-Enein, attended the Egyptian national team’s training session.
The match between Egypt and Iran will take place at eight pm Seattle time on June 26 (six am Cairo time on June 27).
Egypt currently leads the group with four points, followed by Iran and Belgium in second and third place respectively with two points each, and New Zealand in fourth and last place with one point.
