The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned of extremely hot weather across most of the country on Tuesday, accompanied by high humidity levels.
In a statement, the EMA explained that the weather will be hot and humid to very hot during the day in most areas, slightly hot and humid at night and in the early morning, with hotter conditions along the northern coast.
The EMA also predicted wind activity in different areas of the country from Wednesday until Sunday.
According to weather forecasts, temperatures in Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will range between 35C and 37C, with a perceived temperature of 39C.
The North Coast will see temperatures between 30C and 32C, while Upper Egypt will experience temperatures between 37C and 38C.
Southern Upper Egypt will experience the peak of the heatwave, with temperatures reaching 43C and a perceived temperature of 44C.
The EMA urged citizens to avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours, drink plenty of water, wear light-colored cotton clothing, and follow daily weather forecasts for any updates.
The high humidity will temperatures feel one to three degrees Celsius higher than the average temperature in the shade.
