Ten electric buses to serve commuters in the New Administrative Capital

Egypt’s Transport Minister, Kamel al-Wazir, inaugurated ten modern electric buses belonging to the “ACTA” public transport company.

These buses will support the smart, green public transport system in the New Administrative Capital, coinciding with the Egyptian people’s celebrations of the anniversary of the June 30 Revolution, Youm  reported on Tuesday.

 

Key features:

  • Nationally Manufactured: The buses are locally manufactured and fully electric, representing one of the most modern forms of public transport in Egypt.
  • Integrated Service: The buses will immediately enter service on various routes, complementing the existing light rail transit (LRT) and East Nile monorail systems to reduce waiting times and increase passenger capacity.
  • Smart Technology: The buses are equipped with tracking systems, information displays, a talking station system (both visual and audible), electronic payment and fare collection devices, and USB ports for charging phones.
  • Full Accessibility: The buses are fully equipped to serve people with disabilities and facilitate their movement, ensuring a safe and comfortable travel experience for all users.
  • Development Strategy: This step comes as part of ACTA’s plan to modernize its fleet according to the latest international standards to keep pace with the urban and developmental boom in the New Administrative Capital.

 

The Transport Minister affirmed that the state is continuing to implement plans to develop smart and sustainable public transportation system by expanding the use of environmentally friendly means of transport.
