Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty called for restraint and urged against making any accusations or circulating unverified information regarding the attack on two ships in Damietta port.
In remarks on the sidelines of Egyptians Abroad Conference on Sunday, he emphasized that the investigations being conducted by the relevant Egyptian authorities are ongoing, and that any announcements of findings must be based on conclusive evidence.
The main point is that everyone must wait for the conclusion of the official Egyptian investigations before making any accusations or spreading rumors on the incident, he stressed.
The Foreign Minister called for exercising caution in disseminating any premature information, emphasizing that any discussion of the incident must be based on specific information and verifiable evidence.
The concerned authorities have not yet completed the necessary investigations to determine the circumstances of the incident, urging everyone not to prejudge the results or circulate unsubstantiated accounts.
“Before we level accusations or release any information or rumors, we must have specific information based on conclusive evidence. This is what the relevant Egyptian authorities are doing, and they have not yet concluded the necessary investigations to determine the circumstances of this heinous incident,” he explained.
