Egypt to see 6-degree drop in temperatures and rainfall

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a slight decrease in temperatures across the country, with humidity levels remaining high in northern Egypt, extending to Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.

The weather will be slightly hot and humid at night and during the early morning hours, hot and humid during the day in northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, while very hot and humid in southern Upper Egypt.

Expected temperatures

  • 30C along the northwestern coast
  • 34C in Greater Cairo
  • 36C in northern Upper Egypt
  • 42C in southern Upper Egypt

Light rain may fall in parts of the northern coastal governorates and Lower Egypt, with the possibility of low clouds in some areas of Greater Cairo and the Suez Canal cities, likely to be accompanied by a light, insignificant drizzle.

Satellite imagery also predicts occasional wind activity, with speeds ranging between 30-40 kilometers per hour, which may stir up sand and dust in parts of Upper Egypt and the Western Desert at intervals.

Weather maps indicate strong winds along some beaches, particularly El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Gamasa, Damietta, and Port Said, leading to waves ranging from 1.5 to 2.25 meters.

The EMA warned of potential maritime navigation disruptions in some areas.

It urged citizens to follow weather forecasts and updates issued by the authority and to take necessary precautions to prepare for the weather.
