Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk reaffirmed the depth of the historical and fraternal ties between both countries.
During a phone call on Tuesday, the two top diplomats discussed bilateral ties as well as international and regional developments, asserting a mutual interest in further advancing bilateral cooperation.
The two ministers emphasized the importance of expanding economic cooperation, especially in energy, mining, fisheries, agriculture and logistics.
They also highlighted the need to hold the g on a regular basis, expressing their anticipation of Cairo hosting the committee’s third session soon, building on the outcomes of its second session and the first Egyptian-Mauritanian Economic Forum, both held in Nouakchott, to strengthen business ties and boost trade and investment.
The ministers also discussed coordination within the Arab League, the African Union and other regional groupings, as well as efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and promote political and diplomatic solutions to crises.
