Business guru Naguib Sawiris said he is hopeful about the current uprising in Egypt, which he believes can bring about democracy that will in turn enhance business.
Sawiris, one of the top businessmen of Egypt, speaking to CNN said his group is still buying its stocks even if they are at a low.
“We’re moving to the better. Democracy is good. Businessmen are still here and this is a sign of stability,” he said.
Sawiris told Al-Masry Al-Youm that, contrary to rumors, he has not departed Egypt and is is currently located in the coastal city of Hurghada.
He added that he is confident that the current uprising is being orchestrated by the youth of Egypt. “We will do our best to ensure the movement is not hijacked by radicals.”
For long, Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood has been the largest opposition bloc believed by many to be capable of challenging the regime.
However, the ongoing uprising which kicked off last Tuesday has been entirely choreographed by groups of young activists.
