Al-Araby: The Security Council failed to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza

Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Araby has sharply criticized the UN Security Council for failing to stop the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people in Gaza, stressing that the Arab League will prosecute the Israeli war criminals for the crimes they have committed against humanity.

In his speech before the emergency meeting of the Arab Parliament on Thursday, al-Araby said, “The racist military machine of the Israeli occupation continues to brutally crush the steadfastness of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza and all the occupied Palestinian territories for nine days in order to mute the Palestinian people who are demanding their basic rights to live freely without occupation, siege or humiliation.”

He also said the UN Security Council has failed to stop the Israeli aggression as it has been failing for the past 67 years to compel Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories and protect the Palestinian people from repeated abuse and indiscriminately killing women, children and the elderly.

He encouraged the people in Gaza and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories to resist what he called the only form of apartheid and colonialism that still exists in the twenty-first century.

“The Arab countries will always consider the Palestinian cause its first priority and will continue to support the Palestinian people to establish an independent state,” he said.
