Al-Azhar Grand Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb met on Wednesday with Amal Salama, the Egyptian ambassador to Canada, and told her that he is ready to open a center for teaching Arabic in Canada to serve the Arab and Islamic communities there.
Salama confirmed that Al-Azhar is respected by everyone for its moderate Islamic thought, and thanked al-Tayeb for having sent preachers to Canada during Ramadan.
