Austrian Muslim activist condemns Vienna mosque attack

Austrian Muslim activist Omar al-Rawi, a founding member of the Austrian Muslims Initiative, condemned the attack on the Hidayah Mosque in downtown Vienna, Sunday, describing it as "racist".

Rawi said Muslims are considered part of Austria and Europe and he called for holding attackers accountable as such acts increase feelings of racism and hatred toward Muslims.

A masked man smashed the windows of Hidayah Mosque on Praterstrasse Street in Vienna, on Sunday, with a metal rod. Mosque officials have filed a claim over the incident.
