Badie imprisoned 15 days for inciting murder

The Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood Mohamed Badie was sent on Thursday to 15 days pending investigations by the East Cairo Prosecution on charges of incitement to kill and torture citizens at the Rabea al-Adaweya sit-in.

The sit-in was dispersed by security forces last Wednesday, leaving hundreds killed.

On Tuesday, the public prosecutor also ordered the detention of Badie for a further 15 days pending investigation.

He is being accused of incitement to kill demonstrators in the violence near the Muslim Brotherhood headquarter in Moqattam and near the Ettehadiya Presidential Palace. In addition, he is being accused of incitement to break into the Republican Guard House last month.

Badie was arrested on Tuesday in an apartment in Nasr City after residents reported him to the police.

Security forces are holding a campaign to arrest Brotherhood leaders accused of inciting violence during pro-Mohamed Morsy sit-ins.
