Charge-free photography inside Egyptian Museum ends Jan 7

The Antiquities Ministry's decision to allow tourists to take pictures for free inside the Egyptian Museum, in place since December 1, will expire on January 7, according to Minister Mamdouh el-Damati.

The decision, which allows personal photos to be taken by Egyptians and foreigners, has succeeded in luring many visitors since its application. The ministry said it was part of its efforts to encourage tourism.

Photos will be charged for after that date
