Clashes at Amr Moussa’s rally

Clashes erupted between the 25 January Revolution Youth Coalition and members of the former ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) during a rally held in Luxor on Wednesday by presidential candidate Amr Moussa.

The two sides threw chairs at each other, and four members of the coalition were injured in the fight and taken to hospital.

The hotel management cut off electricity from the hall in which the rally was held, and Moussa’s bodyguards evacuated him from the back door.

Those engaged in the clashes were removed from the hall before Moussa returned and the rally continued.

The attendees applauded him and apologized for what had happened.
