Cold weather is expected to continue across Egypt on Monday, especially in the north, according to meteorologists. Low- and medium-level clouds will be seen, accompanied by rains on northern coasts. Moderate northwesterly winds will blow.

Highs of just 16 degrees centigrade will be reached in Cairo and 15 degrees in Alexandria.

Mild weather will be felt in Upper Egypt during the daytime, turning to extremely cold in the nightime. Highs of just 19 degrees will be reached in Qena and Luxor and 20 degrees in Aswan.

The height of Mediterranean waves is predicted to reach between 1.5 to two meters, with southwesterly winds blowing, compared to a height of two to 2.5 meters for Red Sea waves, with northwesterly winds also blowing.

Northwesterlies are also expected blow on the southern Sinai, along with the Mediterranean and Red seas, which is likely to disturb maritime navigation.
