Cold wave continues across Egypt, with rainy weather on Saturday: EMA

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned of the continued cold wave across Egypt, amid expectations that rain will continue to fall on the northern coasts and northern Lower Egypt intermittently.

Weather maps revealed the formation of a dense cloud cover accompanied by rainfall in various areas of the Delta, Lower Egypt, the Canal cities, and North Sinai, extending lightly to parts of Greater Cairo.

Heightened wind activity will compound the cold weather, the EMA said, adding that the cold snap is expected to continue until the end of the week.

Saturday’s weather forecast

The daylight hours will tend to be cold in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the northern coasts, growing warmer in South Sinai and the south of the country, and very cold at night across most of the country.

Frost will also form on crops in central Sinai and New Valley Governorate.

Moderate rain is expected to fall on areas of the northeastern coasts, North Sinai, and northern Lower Egypt.

Light rainfall is expected on areas of the northwestern coasts, central and southern Lower Egypt, the Suez Canal cities, the Gulf of Suez, and South Sinai intermittently.

Weather maps revealed wind activity in areas of Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, and South Sinai at intermittent intervals.
