Cold weather, rain for Egypt on Thursday

Meteorologists expect temperatures to continue to decrease across Egypt on Thursday, with cold weather and possible rainfall predicted in Cairo, Lower Egypt, and along the country’s northern coasts.

Cooler temperatures are also predicted throughout Upper Egypt.

Very cold weather is expected throughout the country at night, with frost predicted to cover farmland in Central Sinai and Northern Upper Egypt.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 15C in Cairo and Alexandria, 18C in Qena, 19C in Luxor, and 21C in Aswan.

Winds are expected to be southwestern in Egypt’s north and extending through northern Upper Egypt, disturbing sands and dusts in desert areas and possibly disrupting maritime navigation in the Mediterranean Sea.

Waves in the Mediterranean will be moderate to rough, ranging between two and 2.5 meters in height, with northwestern surface winds on the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea. Waves in the Red Sea are expected to be moderate, ranging between 1.5 and two meters in height.
