Court of Cassation rejects Badie’s appeal against placing him on terrorism lists

The Court of Cassation rejected an appeal on Wednesday submitted by Mohamed Badie, the supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, and other group leaders, against the Prosecutor General placing them on a list of terrorist organizations.

Other defendants in the case are Mustafa Abdel Ghani Fahmi, Abdel Rahman Mohamed Abdel Hakim, Atef Abdel Gelil Abbas, Mohamed Abdel Azim Mohamed, Khairat al-Shater, Rashad Bayoumi, Mohamed Mahdi Akef, Mohamed Saad Tawfiq, Zein Abdel Rauf, Osama Yassin, Mohamed al-Beltagy, Essam al-Erian, Mahmoud Ezzat, Hussam Abu Bakr, Ahmed Mahmoud, Mahmoud Ahmed and Reda Khalil.

The Prosecutor General's decision was based on the Criminal Court's verdict in the case known as “The Guidance Bureau Events,” where some defendants were handed death and life sentences.
