The Egyptian Dar Al Iftaa moon-sighted the crescent of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1444 AH after sunset on Tuesday 29 Shaaban, corresponding to March 21, 2023, by the Sharia and scientific committees spread across the country.
The Grand Mufti of Egypt Shawky Allam announced that “we have verified through the results of the moon-sighting that the sighting of Ramadan crescent has not been proven on Tuesday.”
Accordingly, the Egyptian Dar al-Iftaa announced that Thursday, corresponding to March 23, is the first day of Ramadan for the year 1444 AH.
