Defense Minister says avenging Egyptian victims in Libya has started

Egypt’s Copts leader Pope Tawadros met with Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Mahmoud Hegazy and an armed forces delegation at the cathedral in Abbassiya on Monday.
 
Sobhi offered condolences to the pope over the deaths of 21 Egyptian Copts who were beheaded in Libya by the terrorist Islamic State group. He said that armed forces started avenging the victims by carrying out aerial strikes on IS sites located in the eastern part of Libya early Monday morning.
 
The pope also received Trade and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour who also offered condolences over the deaths of the victims.
