Doctors demand better training, end to favoritism

Dozens of doctors staged a protest on Tuesday in front of the Health Ministry, with the participation of Dr. Mona Mina, secretary general of the Doctors Syndicate, to demand better training.

They claim only the doctors who have connections are trained in good hospitals.

“All they want is to train in hospitals that have the means to train them,” said Dr. Mina, calling for an equitable distribution of doctors at hospitals.

The syndicate sent a letter to Assistant Health Minister Hisham Atta saying the ministry uses favoritism in assigning doctors to certain hospitals, and requesting him to bring those responsible to account.
