Dozens of workers at Rock Ceramic Factory in Ain Sokhna gathered outside the office of the Manpower Ministry in the 24th of October City in Suez on Tuesday to protest shutting the factory down due to shortage in natural gas.
The factory owns debts to the company supplying natural gas, according to labor leader at the factory Tamer Farag.
Natural gas was suspended by the end of July, he said. The natural gas company has asked the Rock Factory to pay its debts on July 27 in 24 hours or it would cut natural gas, Farag added.
The laborers were forced to take a vacation starting July 28, he added.
