Egypt deports 3 Palestinians for entering Egypt illegally

Suez prosecution on Tuesday decided to deport three Palestinians for entering Egypt illegally.

Security services at the Ahmed Hamdy tunnel arrested them Monday on board a vehicle coming from Cairo.

A security source said the three Palestinians had no residency documents and had entered the country through the tunnels in Gaza few days ago.

They intended to return back the same way through tunnels linking Gaza with South Sinai, the source said.

Security services in Suez will implement the prosecution’s decision in days, the source added.

Egyptian authorities earlier accused Palestinians of involvement in criminal operations in Sinai after sneaking into Egypt illegally.

News reports last month said that army and police forces arrested Palestinians who had links with an attack perpetrated by armed Islamists on a police station in Arish on 29 July. Five were killed in the attack.
