Egypt free of deadly Ebola virus: Health Ministry

The Health Ministry has declared Egypt free of any cases of the deadly Ebola virus.

In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said, “The rate of deaths of patients infected with the virus have reached 60 percent.”

It added that several precautionary measures were taken within daily follow-up on the international status of the epidemic, which has spread in western Africa.

“The Abbaseya fever hospital was allocated for any cases suspected or confirmed to be infected with the virus,” the statement added.

“A committee was formed to follow on and take necessary measures and draw plans to prepare,” it said.
