Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokri held a meeting with Greece’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Terens Quick to discuss the third stage of the Egyptian-Greek-Cypriot Roots Revival Initiative to be held in Australia later this year.

Official Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Hafez said that the initiative aimed to deepen the historic and cultural relations between the three countries.

Hafez added that the meeting also discussed enhancing the bilateral relations between Egypt and Greece in field of energy and exchange views on the regional issues.

The initiative was first held in Alexandria in April 2018 and then in United Kingdom, which organized conference for physicians of the three countries’ communities in October 2018.

The initiative is the first of its kind and aims at celebrating the Greek and Cypriot communities that formerly lived in Egypt as a message of love on the part of Egypt towards everyone who lived on its land and left an impact or human heritage.

Greeks and Cypriots have participated alongside Egyptians in making a great renaissance in Egypt, whether in the cultural, commercial or industrial fields.
