Egypt invites Turkey to participate in its largest military event in December

The Egyptian Minister of Military Production, Mohamed Salah Eddin Mustafa, invited Turkey to participate in the largest military event held in Egypt, the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX), scheduled for December.

Following his meeting with the Turkish Chargé d’Affairs, Salih Mutlu Shen, Mustafa said that they discussed ways to open new horizons for joint cooperation between military production companies and Turkish companies operating in various fields of manufacturing.

The minister confirmed that the Ministry of Military Production takes eager interest in everything related to industry, introducing modern technologies to its factories, expanding the range of its military and civilian products, and raising its quality and competitiveness in the global markets.

“Now it has become necessary for us to support industrial relations, which will strengthen economic relations between the two sides,” Mutlu Shen said, adding that the Ministry of Military Production is ready to establish new production lines in cooperation with the Turkish side allowing them to better enter Arab and African markets.

Mutlu Shen stated that Egypt and Turkey have constructive cooperation in many fields.

He also praised the manufacturing, technological, research and infrastructure capabilities of the Egyptian military production companies.

The ministry’s official spokesperson, Mohamed Eid Bakr, stated that the work policy of the Ministry of Military Production is based on its openness to cooperate with all international companies operating in various fields.

Relations with Egypt stand strong

Back in March Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu thanked Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry for his visit to Turkey and his hope to continue exchanging visits between the two countries.

During a joint press conference with Shoukry, Cavusoglu also expressed his thanks to Egypt for the assistance it provided to his country after the earthquake, which reflects the solidarity between the two countries.

He described relations between Turkey and Egypt as “historic” with a basis in a common culture, stressing: “This is why we want to strengthen relations between the two countries, which of course needs help and support from Presidents Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.”
