Egypt is on the cusp of historic event by hosting COP27: Presidential spokesperson

Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady said that Egypt is on the cusp of a historic event by hosting the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), set for the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh city from November 6 to 18.

In statements on Friday, Radi said that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will inaugurate the conference that will be attended by several heads of state and government, as well as experts to discuss climate change consequences and means to adapt with climate change and provide funding for green projects.

He noted that the president is expected to give a speech during the opening of the event that draws up a roadmap for a better future for mankind, mechanisms to implement the previous climate pledges.

The president will also participate in a number of activities as well as high-level meetings with concerning green transformation initiatives worldwide.

He will also hold a number of meetings with world leaders participating in the conference to discuss means of boosting bilateral ties and the current regional and international topics of mutual concern, topped by the issue of climate change.
