Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif reviewed with Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Iwai Fumio ways to promote bilateral cooperation in the education sector.
During a meeting with the Japanese diplomat on Tuesday, the minister discussed cooperation for expanding joint initiatives, highlighting the successful model of the Egyptian-Japanese schools.
Abdel Latif highlighted the ministry’s strategy to integrate Japanese educational expertise, notably the Tokkatsu activities, which aim to foster students’ social skills, teamwork and personal responsibility.
He said Japan is a key partner in this strategy due to its well-established expertise and integrated approach to developing the educational process, in line with Egypt’s priorities and future goals.
The two sides also explored opportunities to enhance teacher training programs, facilitate the exchange of educational practices, and adopt innovative student activities tailored to meet labor market demands and national development goals.
Meanwhile, Fumio reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Egypt’s educational development and ongoing partnership.
A great host senior officials from the ministry and the Japanese embassy in Cairo attended the meeting.
