Egypt to end Daylight Saving Time on Thursday

Daylight Saving Time (DST) will conclude at midnight on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

Clocks will be set back 60 minutes, moving from 12:00 AM (midnight) to 11:00 PM, officially starting Winter Time across all governorates of Egypt beginning Friday, October 31, 2025.

The 2025 DST period originally began on Friday, April 25, when clocks were advanced by one hour.

The measure is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to reduce energy consumption and enhance energy efficiency.

This marks the third consecutive application of Daylight Saving Time since its official reinstatement in 2023.

DST has been implemented in Egypt to rationalize electricity consumption by reducing reliance on artificial lighting and making greater use of daylight.

The move contributes to achieving economic savings in energy consumption, especially in large institutions, in addition to enhancing productivity and reducing electricity consumption in homes and businesses.
