
Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif met on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026, with UNESCO education officials to discuss closer cooperation on education reform, teacher development, and digital learning initiatives.
The minister reviewed progress in improving education quality, raising student attendance rates, reducing classroom density, and addressing shortages of teachers in core subjects.
He welcomed further international studies and assessments to measure the impact of ongoing reforms.
The meeting also addressed plans to strengthen teachers’ skills in programming and artificial intelligence, including the launch of Egypt’s AI Competency Framework for Teachers in cooperation with UNESCO.
For their part, UNESCO officials praised recent developments in Egypt’s education sector and expressed their commitment to continuing cooperation in education reform, training, and capacity-building programs.
