Egyptians and foreigners flock to archaeological museum at Cairo Airport

Hours after the opening of the Egyptian Antiquities Museum at Cairo International Airport on Tuesday, crowds of Egyptians and foreigners visited the museum located at Terminal Two.

Amongst them was a tourist from Russia, who expressed her joy at the museum’s establishment and her admiration for all the artifacts on display, which she she says allowed her a glimpse into ancient Egyptian civilization. She eagerly took photos of herself amongst the artifacts.

The tourist added that the museum was a clever idea to attract visitors and boost cultural tourism.

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled al-Anany, and Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar inaugurated the Egyptian Antiquities Museum at Terminal Two and the Museum of Terminal Building Three in celebration of International Museum Day and as part of the Tourism Ministry’s plan to achieve its sustainable development goals and promote Egypt’s tourist destinations.
