Egypt’s ambassador to France reviews Egypt’s vision for Middle East stability

Egyptian ambassador to France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, Tarek Dahroug, has highlighted Egypt’s perspective on ongoing transformations, emphasizing that the succession of crises facing the region necessitates comprehensive approaches that tackle the root causes of conflicts and enhance prospects for stability and development.

The ambassador was addressing a seminar organized on Thursday, 30/4/2026, by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly, “Commission des Affaires étrangères” on political transformations in the Middle East and their repercussions on the French domestic scene.

The seminar drew broad participation from French parliamentarians, experts, and researchers specializing in Middle Eastern affairs. Discussions focused on the implications of rapid regional developments and their impact on security and stability across the region.

The Egyptian ambassador stressed the importance of respecting state sovereignty and preserving national institutions as fundamental pillars for regional stability.

He also warned that military escalation in the Middle East poses serious risks of widening conflicts, reiterating Egypt’s firm stance calling for de-escalation and prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions to ensure security and stability for all peoples of the region.

Dahroug took up the threat of terrorism and extremism, noting that effectively confronting these challenges requires international coordination and a precise understanding of their ideological and organizational dimensions, key elements in eliminating terrorism.

He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting peace efforts and strengthening cooperation with international partners, foremost among them France, to address shared challenges and work toward a more stable and prosperous future in the Middle East.
