Egypt’s COVID-19 recovery rates rise to 92.8%: ministry

Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population announced that the coronavirus recovery rate in quarantine hospitals has increased to 92.8 percent.

On Monday, the Ministry of Health announced that 506 people recovered from the coronavirus and were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total of recoverees from the virus to 95,586.

Ministry Spokesperson Khaled Megahed announced that 115 new cases tested positive for the virus on Monday, bringing the total number of infections to 102,955 cases.

He added that 18 new deaths were reported on Monday, bringing Egypt’s total death virus toll to 5,901.

Based on recommendations from the World Health Organization issued on May 27, the disappearance of symptoms for ten days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the virus, Megahed explained.
