EU delegation to discuss ban on Egyptian seed exports

Sherif al-Biltagy, chairman of the Agricultural Export Council, said Sunday that a delegation of the European Union would visit Cairo this week to discuss the ban on exports of Egyptian seeds set to last until the end of October.

“The ban includes many agricultural products,” Biltagy said. “This threatens our reputation.”

For his part, Hany Brezy, chairman of the Food Export Council, said that the ban would not affect exports of food products. “We project a five percent increase in our exports,” he said.
