Extremely cold weather continues through Friday

 

Extremely cold weather is predicted to prevail on northwestern coasts on Friday, to be cold on the northeastern coast, Delta and Cairo.

Highs of 16 degrees centigrade will be felt in Cairo, compared to 14 degrees in Alexandria.

Temperatures will be lower than normal. Low- and medium-level clouds are expected in the north, according to meteorologists, to be accompanied by heavy rains on northwestern coasts and light rains on northeastern coasts.

Mild weather will be felt in Upper Egypt and South Sinai during daytime turning to extremely cold in the night.

Highs of 19 degrees will be reached in Qena, 20 degrees in Luxor and Aswan.

Southwestern wind will blow in the north whipping up dust and sand and disturbing maritime navigation in the Mediterranean.

The height of Mediterranean waves will reach between 2.5 to three meters, with southwesterly winds; whereas the height of Red Sea waves will reach between 1.5 to two meters, with northeasterly winds.
