Social media users have been circulating a video showing a resident of a well-known residential compound in the Fifth Settlement assaulting a security guard and verbally abusing a fellow neighbor.
The assault incident
In recent hours, new footage has emerged shedding light on the conflict. The uploader of the clip clarified that the dispute began when the resident objected to the security guard sitting down during his shift. The disagreement quickly escalated into a physical confrontation.
Witnesses report that the incident occurred while the defendant was passing through the compound grounds.
According to another neighbor, a bystander tried to intervene to defuse the tension and calm the situation; however, his efforts failed, and the discussion devolved into a heated verbal altercation.
The video has sparked widespread outrage across social media platforms, with users calling for legal action and the arrest of the perpetrator to deter similar behavior in the future.
Suspect apprehended following official investigation
The Ministry of Interior announced that it has successfully identified the individuals and clarified the circumstances of the video. Investigations revealed that on February 19, the Fifth Settlement Police Station received two reports.
The first was filed by a security guard at the aforementioned residential complex, who sustained multiple abrasions and bruises. The second was filed by a resident of the same complex, reporting verbal abuse and insults sustained while attempting to mediate.
Following legal procedures, the suspect—identified as a factory owner—was arrested. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the incident, claiming he was frustrated by the guard’s alleged negligence and resented the neighbor’s intervention. Legal measures have been taken, and the Public Prosecution has taken over the investigation.
