Festival brings together Arab media players in Cairo

The Media Production City on Tuesday will host events for the 16th session of the Arab Media Festival in Cairo.

Festival contestants will represent 14 Arab states, including Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, Djibouti, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Iraq, Syria, Sudan.

Egyptian singer Sherine will perform at the opening ceremony.

Egypt’s Minister of Information Anas al-Fiqqi, along with media figures, heads of TV authorities, and satellite network directors from guest countries will attend.   

The festival will honor a number of Arabs working in the media field, such as Saudi Sheikh Saleh Kamel, owner of Arab Radio and TV(ART) network, media host Nabil Ghosn from Lebanon, Ismael al-Ogeily from Libya, and Abdallah Ben Salem al-Shueily from Oman.

Egyptians Mamdouh al-Leithy, former chief of the Egyptian Radio and TV Union (ERTU) Zeinab Suweidan, former Egyptian broadcast head Inas Gohar, and author Yousry al-Gendy will also be recognized.
