FJP parliamentarians commend cabinet’s handling of ‘simple’ problems

Several MPs of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party commended the performance of Kamal al-Ganzouri’s cabinet in handling ‘simple’ problems like the shortage of diesel oil and butane gas cylinders and the wastewater crisis.

MPs held a meeting with Ganzouri, the housing, irrigation and planning ministers and the Minya governor on Tuesday.

In a press conference at the cabinet’s temporary headquarters, the members were asked about the FJP commending the cabinet while also demanding a no-confidence vote against it.

MP Ali Omran said, “There’s no hostility between FJP and the government, but we demand swift solutions for problems. If they’re solved, we will not submit a no-confidence vote.”

MP Mohamed Abdel Azim said he appreciates the prime minister, but he expressed reservations over issues of security and funding.

Planning and International Cooperation Minister Fayza Abouelnaga commented on the no-confidence vote, saying it was rejected by the ruling military council, which is the only authority that can appoint or withdraw confidence from the cabinet according to the Constitutional Declaration.
