FM: Egypt ready for a military intervention in Yemen

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry has announced, that it is coordinating with Saudi Arabia to launch military attacks against Houthi rebels in Yemen by air, naval, and ground forces, if necessary. 
 
"Egypt announces its political and military support for the step taken by the coalition, backing the legitimate government in Yemen, in response to the [Yemeni government's] request, and building on Egypt's historical responsibility towards the Arab national security and safety of the Gulf region" read the statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.
 
"Coordination with Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states is underway, regarding Egypt's participation, with the help of its air and and naval forces, and the ground forces if necessary, within the framework of the coalition formed to defend the stability and unity of Yemen, and to protect the security of brotherly Arab countries," it added.
 
The GCC has announced its approval for a military intervention in Yemen, in response to the request made by the Yemeni president Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, in the early hours of Thursday morning, according to an official statement by the GCC.
