Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said on Saturday, September 26, 2026, that the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) remains a central part of educational cooperation between Egypt and Japan.
These remarks were made in a recorded video address during a ceremony marking the graduation of E-JUST’s 2025 and 2026 classes in Alexandria.
The Minister stated that the university has become one of the main areas of bilateral cooperation, helping train skilled professionals, transfer modern technology, and strengthen educational and scientific ties between the two countries.
Abdelatty affirmed that education is an important part of Egypt-Japan relations, pointing to cooperation between Cairo and Tokyo to establish more than 100 Japanese schools in Egypt.
He also thanked Japan for its support for educational cooperation and praised E-JUST for providing postgraduate scholarships to students from African countries.
The Minister congratulated the graduates, saying their knowledge and technological skills would contribute to Egypt’s development.
President of Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology Ahmed el Sabbagh said that E-JUST is working to prepare graduates for changes in technology, artificial intelligence and the knowledge economy.
He added that the university continues to develop its academic and research programs and expand cooperation with academic and industrial institutions in Egypt and Japan.
The ceremony was attended by Alexandria Governor Ayman Attia, Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Iwai Fumio and the ambassadors of Kenya and Malawi, along with university and education officials.
