
CAIRO, Oct 3 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, held a meeting Friday with the Permanent Delegate of Mozambique to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris.
The meeting was held during the minister’s visit to the French capital to head the Egyptian delegation at the UNESCO Executive Board meetings and lead the efforts of the Egyptian candidacy campaign for the post of Director-General of UNESCO in the elections scheduled for Monday.
The minister praised Mozambique’s support for the African and Arab candidate, Khaled El-Enany, lauding Mozambique’s commitment to the African Union (AU) decision to endorse El-Enany as Afrirca’s candidate for the position.
Abdelatty noted that this support reflects the spirit of African solidarity and the unity of the continental stance behind the AU-named candidate, embodying a model of cooperation and integration within the African continent. (MENA)
