Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national institutions, stressing the importance of a Sudanese-owned political process without external interference in a way that helps end the crisis and restore security and stability in the country.
Abdelatty made the remarks during a phone call on Friday with Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieddin Salem.
The phone call came as part of efforts to follow up on developments in bilateral relations across various fields, as well as developments on the ground in Sudan.
The two ministers also exchanged views on developments in the Horn of Africa and Red Sea security, stressing the importance of enhancing coordination among littoral states and the need to maintain the security and safety of maritime navigation.
They also underscored the importance of supporting efforts to consolidate peace, security and stability in the Horn of Africa in a manner that safeguards the interests of the region’s countries and peoples.
