
Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty discussed over phone with US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff regional developments.
During the contact, the two sides exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East in light of the recent military escalation, within the framework of the continued consultation between Egypt and the United States.
Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s support for all efforts aimed at resolving the current crisis through dialogue and diplomatic means.
He welcomed the progress achieved through the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, stressing the importance of adhering to its provisions and ensuring that it serves as a constructive step toward reducing tensions and enhancing security and stability across the region.
For his part, the US special envoy praised Egypt’s role in supporting efforts to achieve regional stability, as well as Cairo’s ongoing coordination with the parties concerned to encourage dialogue.
Both sides agreed to continue coordination during the coming period in a manner that serves the interests of regional security and stability.
