Foreign Minister: Africa a top priority for Egypt’s foreign policy

Foreign Minister Nabil al-Araby said African issues factor high on Egypt’s agenda and in its foreign policy, especially since the 25 January revolution.

During a recent meeting with African ambassadors to Egypt, Araby discussed many issues, particularly the situations in Sudan, Somalia and the African Great Lakes.

A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry today said Araby was happy to meet with African countries' representatives, and emphasized Egypt’s desire to reach compromises regarding the problems Africa faces.

Araby added that Egypt is looking forward to increasing joint projects with other African nations, to help achieve more continental integration.
