Fourth Russian tour influx resumes trips to Hurghada

‎The fourth Russian tour groups resumed flights to Hurghada International Airport on Monday.

Since the suspension of Russian flights to the Red Sea with the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war in February.

The Russian tour operator Pegas Touristik resumed flights to Hurghada, Monday.

This becomes by the fourth major Russian tourism company to launch direct charter flights after tour operators TEZ TOUR, Biblio Globus and Fun & Sun (TUI) to the resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh.

Tourism expert Issam Ali confirmed that the flights will be on the Nordwind Airlines on an Airbus A321 Neo with 218 seats.

As for the prices, tours in a 3-star hotel for two people start from 79,000 rubles, in 4-stars hotels from 82,000 rubles and in 5-star hotels from 87,000 rubles, Ali said.

The prices of trips to Egypt rose from 20 percent to 50 percent compared to February, due to the sharp fluctuations in the exchange rates and the limited supply in the foreign market, Ali explained.

Travel agents of the Russian tourism company Tez Tour in the Red Sea governorate announced that the company decided to open sales of charter flights from Russia to the tourist resorts of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada, starting from May 28.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has impacted heavily on tourism flows from the two countries.

Russia was a major source of tourism to Egypt, which generated billions of dollars annually for the Egyptian industry.

The tourism flow was in decline at a rate of 35 percent according to the Vice Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt Moataz Sedky.
