The Grand Mufti Nazir Ayyad said the Palestinian Cause remains deeply rooted in Egypt’s national consciousness, stressing the religious and humanitarian responsibility to support the Palestinian people.
Ayyad made the remarks during a meeting with Palestinian Chief Justice Mahmoud Al-Habbash on the sidelines of the 11th international fatwa conference in Cairo. They discussed developments in the Palestinian issue and the role of religious institutions in raising awareness, preserving Palestinian identity and countering attempts to distort its history.
Al-Habbash praised Egypt’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause and its religious institutions’ efforts to promote awareness of its importance, describing Egypt as a key Arab and Islamic pillar of support for Palestine.
