The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts continued high temperatures across most of the country on Wednesday, but announced the heatwave would ease on Friday and Saturday.
Temperatures are expected to rise again on Sunday, however.
Moderate temperatures are expected in the early morning, with hot conditions are forecast for the North Coast, Lower Egypt, and Greater Cairo during the day.
Very hot weather is expected in southern Egypt, with moderate temperatures at night.
Winds will be intermittently active, reaching speeds of 30-35 km/h over parts of South Sinai, the Red Sea Governorate, and northern Upper Egypt.
The EMA indicated a slight chance of low clouds forming over scattered areas from northern Egypt to Greater Cairo and the Suez Canal cities, potentially resulting in light, insignificant drizzle in some areas.
Wednesday’s temperatures:
- North Coast: 31C
- Northern Upper Egypt: 36C
- Greater Cairo: 39C
- Southern Upper Egypt: 42C
