Heavy rain, torrents in Egypt February 16-18: EMA

Head of Egypt’s General Metrological Authority (EMA) Ahmed Abd al-Aal stated on Wednesday that the country will witness instable weather from February 16 till February 18.

Abd al-Aal said that low and medium level cloud cover will dominate the country, accompanied by heavy rains on the northern coasts and Lower Egypt, with torrents in South of Upper Egypt, South Sinai and the Red Sea mounts.

Temperatures will fall by three to four degrees on February 14 and 15. Cold weather will prevail in the north of the country and will be moderate in the south of Upper Egypt during the day. Very cold temperatures will prevail through the night.

Winds will be active and moderate across the country on February 17, disturbing maritime navigation in the Mediterranean and Red Sea.

Maximum temperatures predicted for the following cities are as follows: 16C on the northwesterly coasts, 17C on the northeasterly coasts, 16C in Lower Egypt and Cairo, 17C in north of Upper Egypt, and 21C in south of Upper Egypt.
