HEC: Nominees for parliamentary elections granted 2 more days to apply

The High Elections Commission announced on Sunday it would extend the duration to accept candidate applications who seek running for the coming parliamentary elections for two more days to end on 19 February instead of 17 February.
 
Door for nomination was originally opened on 8 February. Campaigning for the first stage of elections will take place between 26 February and 20 March.
 
An earlier statement by HEC said campaigning for the second stage will take place between 3-24 April.
 
Elections will be conducted on two phases, with the first one starting on 22-23 March including provinces of Giza, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, New Valley, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, Red Sea, Alexandria, Beheira and Matrouh.
 
Expatriates included in the first phase are projected to vote on 21 and 22 March.
 
The second phase will take place on 26-27 April in the governorates of Cairo, Daqahlia, Menufiya, Gharbiya, Kafr al-Sheikh, Sharqiya, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia Suez, North Sinai, and South Sinai,
 
Expatriates in the second stage will vote on 25 and 26 April.
